Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

The moment I leave my drive way mine starts saying recalculating and never stops... what's that all about? Anyway, this is a wonderful capture; such a beautiful beach.

Excellent image. Full view is a must! I like the composition, the simple lines, and the starkness of the ocean beach. I could tell Garmin stories all day ... :P

"You have left the route and will never find your way" That's the kind of GPS I'd end up with! lol Love this shot. Years ago an old boyfriend and I rode our bikes miles thru the water just like this. It was so much fun; we got soaked, the bikes were never quite the same and I'd do it again if I could!

Superb capture Bill. God Bless.

Zoom shows him well, nice shot Bill. Perhaps he is trying to re-cycle his life!!

"Recalculating...when possible, make a u-turn." That's the message I always get leaving my neighborhood, it tries to guide me to a dead end every time. But once I get past this announcement, it works perfectly. I love it! Particularly when in a strange city or driving down to Texas to see my daughter...flawless directions all the way! Nice shot BTW!

What a marvellous photo! Luckily I can read maps, and would be scared to depend on a machine.

I hate that voice, she sounds like she is PO. Nice shot Bill.

'....brakes? Brakes? Where are those damned brakes!' A whole Generation is growing up NOT being able to read a basic road map, sad don't you think.. Cool and somewhat funny shot! Rob

I think it would drive me crazy to have something electronic talking to me in my car. I won't have one of those things, I am a die-hard map reader, and very good at it, I might add. ;} I love this shot, though; there's a wonderful feeling of solitude in a big space. Great capture!

Very nice panoramic photo of the overoptimistic bike rider pondering his chances against the waves, Bill. The only recalculating that I'm familiar with is in fine tuning artillery and mortar coordinates in barrages against the enemy.

A most delightful photo, Bill - and I love your narrative... However it has formed a picture in my mind: I'm picturing Jaws about 10 yards off the beach thinking "Ah..... Meals on Wheels!" LOL this really is a lovely photo - very peaceful and tranquil. I can almost hear the surf!

Great shot Bill. Makes me want to go to San Diego. As to the GPS - I like the voice so much that I occasionally don't turm when I'm supposed to - just to hear the voice and confuse her. BTW - great video. It was shot before the finals on Sunday afternoon.

This lonely biker seems to be riding right into the see. What a cool shot, Bill. Love it!

Beautiful shore and waves photo! As for GPS, I had a car trip from Sweden to Denmark a few months after the bridge between the 2 countries was completed. The GPS didn't have the approaches or the bridge programmed in yet. The GPS went haywire! "Keep to the road!" "You're driving in the fields!" "You're driving in the water! Turn around!" "Stop!" "ndkjgvbl.chbivn-" "bn bk.j c.bgfhdf" My, did we in the car have a lot of laughs at the poor system! Keep up the good work, Bill! Really nice photo (I miss being close to a beach like this). :-)
