I was quite amused by your scene. I was a science instructor for 40 years and this scenario happened more often than you can imagine. The unbuttoned shirt would have a been "have a nice day", euphemism for you may leave the lab.

Excellent work. You have put the elements together, including the periodic table chart on the wall and the warning label on the counter door, together very realistically and well.
Well, that fact that the person in know isn't running to the fire alarm or fleeing the building clearly indicates that it's a harmless doofus accident! Frat boys... what can you do??
