Description
I'm not sure whether the granular stuff is fruiting bodies or another lichen using the first as a support!
I know a man who will tell me..and will add the info when I receive it.
This is where a much better camera would pay off..the TZ1 hasn't enough megapixel thingey!

Stunning capture Andrea. God Bless.
Amazing shot Andrea. Awesome spread, reminds me of brusselsprouts.
terrific detail on this encrusted specimen
I just love lichen !!
Great capture. Well done
Marvellous texture! The depth is wonderful.
Awesome exercise in textures here.
Your TZ1 does a fantastic job Andrea.
Great capture and may sound dumb but love the color LOL Hugs Susan~
Nice. It almost looks like something growing underwater on a far off coral reef!
Well now, it appears that your Tizzy1 has done an admirable job in capturing the cool lighting and textural effects of this sugar coated tortuous growth, Andrea.
looks like an alien landscape as the ship is about to land, facing un known dangers and the loss of the red shirts...... Very cool image Andrea
Wow the depth in this capture is amazing. A fabulous capture of this lichen.
Makes me want to put it under the microscope to see the structure really up close and personal. I love this stuff!
This is SO cool .. now you have to repost it with a sprinkle of your digifiddle magik!! And that gives you a good opportunity to post the additional info about the lichen! Actually, your camera did a terrific job on this one.
Very interesting mix of shapes and colours..love it..
wonderful close up
I love your lichen pics. They always look to me like a landscape of some kind. Wonderful detail but it would be delightful to see the title 'Lichen on trunk' and see an image of a piece of luggage.
Oooh! Lichens! I suspect it's two breeds, but I could be wrong. They are the same color, and so maybe the granular bits are those sorts of temporary genitals plants and semi-plants use and then discard. I love the details and the way in which the granular texture makes me think, a wee bit, of powdered parmesan cheese. This is quite a marvel. Chicago is growing a lichen coat this year, it seems.
Wow, this is a serious growth! Nice shot!
BEAUTIFUL lichens.. Lovely macro :)
Wonderful shot.
Almost looks like broccoli lol but a fantastic shot of it close up.
So Lovely.
Amazing closeup!!
This reminds me I have to clean this stuff off my gates.
This is a fantastic combination of lichens Andrea. A very soecial photo. Tizzy1 did just fine!!!
