HO! HO! HO! Last, but not least in completing my list of Christmas characters is the man himself, Santa Claus! My version of him has an origin that I made up on my own, but based in part on research into the actual historical figure of St. Nicholas and various other folklore that I combined. Being that my version of the character is my own take on a combo of the actual saint and different bits of my own ideas of the legends and stories that we've come to identify with the figure today, ideally his place of origin would be that of the real life person of St. Nicholas, which is in Patara, Turkey, and he is of Greek origin during the time of the Roman Empire, and then after some point after his resurrection, he settled in the area of the North Pole in Greenland, and founded Christmas City as his base of operations and his permanent home. However, as explained in the text under the bio for his wife, Noel, this causes a bit of a conflict in how he could have lived from the time of the 3rd and 4th centuries and she wouldn't have realistically been in her place of origin in Iceland until people started settling there in the 8th and 9th centuries... and her bio states that they moved to the North Pole together to be as isolated as possible in order to live out their final days together. So, there is no way that he could've died and been resurrected as an immortal saint centuries before meeting her if we adhere to the actual real world timelines. So, for the sake of this fictional universe, we just have to say that this version of Nicholas lived at some point much later in history, but also within some indeterminate period of time, as did his eventual wife, Noel, whom he met in some unknown isolated location in Iceland where her family farm was located away from any settlements. Hence the two of them always being isolationists and living off the land, but still welcoming to others and providing good will to all.
