Elfgirl Jane is the top female elf at Santa's Workshop, making her the distaff counterpart to Mac. She has more than a working professional relationship to him though, as she's also his girlfriend. And, like him, she too enjoys going on adventures with the other Christmas heroes and helping out in any way that she can. Her evil clone is appropriately known as, "Evilgirl Jane," and just like all the others who have such dark twins, Evilgirl is a constant thorn in Elfgirl's side, but the good Jane is a happy-go-lucky girl who doesn't let her evil doppelganger get her and her friends down. Mac and Jane are stated in their bios to be the head male and female elves of Santa’s workers, each of them leading the other elves of the same gender, with Mac leading the guys, and Jane leading the girls. That is all well and good, but there isn’t really anything specific about their actual origins other than they also act as surrogate children for the Clauses who never had any children of their own. Again, this is fine, and while they are without a doubt, residents of Christmas City, their exact origins are unknown. It is assumed that they are indeed natives of the North Pole and born and raised in Christmas City, but the back story for Mrs. Claus tells of a group of elves who lived in Iceland near her home of origin who somehow knew of Nicholas and were able to contact him and bring him to her to help her out in her time of need. It then says that they eventually traveled around the world together, getting married and settling in the North Pole to be alone with each other until their deaths, at which they were resurrected and founded Christmas City. At no point in this origin story though does it say how the elves came to be in their service, only that she continued to get assistance from her elf friends all throughout her life, presumably before and after becoming immortal along with her husband. This is the only info we have for the origin of the elves, in that they were friends and allies of Noel, and through her, became friends and allies of Nicholas and they came from somewhere in Iceland, or at least they lived there at the time. But, that doesn’t mean that Mac and Jane are also from Iceland, or anywhere else but the North Pole and Christmas City, but they could very well be descended from those original elves who came to the rescue of Mrs. Claus, and it’s possible that those original elves also migrated with the couple to the North Pole thus establishing the current community that lives and works in Christmas City, and all have their place of origin there.
