Sounds cool, unfortunately Christmas in Australia is mainly a commercial enterprise by the major retailers. We don't have a great deal of traditions like this one. What we have that has probably come from this tradition is hanging the stocking over the fireplace. Even this is rarely seen in Australia. Wee I hope old Saint Nic left you a boot full of sweets and not a "Rute" instead :D

I remember my Mom making Advent Calendars for us all through the years and each day we got something special with a verse from the Bible. That was in Illinois and it was a tradition with her family before in Wisconsin. My Great, Great, Great Grandparents immigrated from Ireland to Wisconsin and adopted that custom after they arrived in the US.

Leider ist es auch bei uns nicht anders, Weihnachten ist hauptsächlich kommerziell ausgerichtet und schöne, alte Traditionen bleiben auf der Strecke. Heutzutage sind Adventskalender mit allen (un-)möglichen Dingen gefüllt. Als ich klein war, hatten wir einen ganz schlichten Adventskalender und hinter den Türchen verbargen sich einfach nur hübsche kleine Weihnachtsbildchen. Ich weiss noch, wie aufgeregt wir jeden Morgen zum Kalender gelaufen sind, und geraten haben, was für ein Bild wohl dieses Mal drinnen sein würde... Dein Kalender ist genauso spannend und ich bin verwirrt, was das wohl werden soll... glatzköpfige Aliens, die das Weihnachtsfest sabotieren wollen...? Bei uns ist der Nikolaus auch gewesen und hat Kinokarten in die Stiefel gelegt....und es gibt diesen Knecht doch! Heute scheinen sich im Kalender zwei Brüste zu verstecken??
