Description
Another one I wrote at almost 6am. I just sat down and wrote straight through. Had no idea where it was really headed, but it ended up here. I haven't even read it back to myself and now I'm off to bed. Let me know what you think. So. tired.
Meaning
by Caleb Myers
I missed the point.
Looking for the answer,
I searched too hard, too far,
too much.
To see, to grasp the simplicity.
Where am I headed in this life?
The stagnant stupor of complacency takes precedence.
Over progress. Over time.
Overreaching
all thoughts of why or how.
What does it mean? I missed the point.
And only when I had nothing did I know
Down to my last,
Looking for myself I found
You
gave my life meaning.

I love it all the way. I thank you for it. 5+!
I like your voice. This is well said!
Nicely simple and straightforward. I like the odd juxtaposition of the poem itself and the image; there's a nice bit of playfulness there...what does it mean? You like shrimp. We find ourselves through others? What we find is always what we need, despite the fact that we often find it when searching for something else? I like the questions this raises and the answers that actually inspire new questions. In short, this rocks. Feel free to write more almost-6am poems.
Again, it was 6 in the morning and I just went into Paint and painted the first things that came to my mind, just so I could have something to post as the image for this poem. That's why the image is random and nonsensical. The poem is about searching for meaning in life, but when you find love everything becomes clear. In the stupor of sleep-depravity I over-think things like "my life is headed nowhere". Then I realize there are people in my life whom I love and they are the reason for living, so I wrote this poem.
