Description
As I walked home from my hospital visit, I passed this old public house.
Whilst it was never one of my haunts, it always appeared to be busy and looked quite a nice place which makes it all the sadder to see it boarded up.
Though, these days, our old traditional pubs seem to be in demise - perhaps due to rigid laws, regulation and the prohibitive cost of a night at the pub - mainly thanks to excise duty.
Oh well, that's progress.

so interesting architecture ! and really sad - that it is closed
Too much tax; smoking ban; and they're no longer the social centres they were in my youth. We've lost a lot up here in Cumbria.
