Description
Aeshna cynanea. A common species in the South of England, local elsewhere.
This lady was trying to lay her eggs anywhere but in the water: here she is laying in the crack in the scaffold plank that acts as a bridge over my pond.
Today in my garden.

Stunning capture Andrea. God Bless.
Wow. Cool closeup shot. Well done.
Both pics are superb Andrea, I particularly like the textured lines in this one.
Spectacular picture! However did you get so close for this picture?
superb, i love that face
Superbly great!
TERRIFIC CLOSEUP
Capital POV, depth, perspective, focus and detail, especially within the wings area.
A super capture and I hope the eggs can stay in this crack or will the fall right through.
Nice POV and compo
Curious since they are supposed to deposit their eggs in still or flowing water. This is a particularly handsome specimen. A superb image. Bears a slight resemblance to a Hawker-Harrier.
Great perspective, it looks like she just came in on that landing strip!
superb !!!
What a purty it is i love such big eyes they have.
A very beautiful and clear shot, Andrea :)
These little critters so make me chuckle, their little faces are so sweet :o)

What a beauty! Both angles are excellent.
An excellent photo, POV and outstanding details in zoom!
Handsome image!
