Description

Adelpha bredowii Found in Madera Canyon, Arizona, USA. I never cease to be astounded at the interesting and different butterflies I run across when I am out wandering about. I hiked about a mile up a fairly difficult trail (for me), looking for a Trogon. I got to the place where they said the nest was, and waited there for several hours. I never saw a Trogon, but I did see this butterfly. My camera was wearing the 1300mm lens, and this butterfly was somewhere around 50 to 100 feet away.

OMG -- I thought the image was blurred a little bit, and then I find out the butterfly was over 50 feet away. That is simply amazing! Also looks like the leaves have been falling, it is that time of the year.
