Description
There has been a lot of work going on at Reading General railway station for some time now.
Reading is the first major station and InterCity stop outside London and the traffic volume has been increasing over the years.
Whilst the station was quite large, it was no longer coping with the increased traffic and it was becoming a bit of a bottleneck on the main line so, they are adding more tracks and platforms and generally widening the whole site.
Pictures I have posted in the past of the new railway bridges was all part of this work.
This is the new pedestrian access to the platforms under construction.
