This is a scanned photo from the 1990's of the grain mill at Sturminter Newton in Dorset, UK. I came across it and thought it worth an airing.

Oh, I love this image! There was an old mill I visited on a regular basis when I lived in Prague, only it wasn't in so expansively open an area. It was quite lovely, however. This entire scene is quite idyllic: I love the mood of it, the whole turn-of-the-previous-century feel this has. The past is so odd in that way: there's so much that was idyllic, as well as so much that was truly unpleasant, and yet there seems to have been a better sense of proportion. Maybe it's just because it's all far enough back in time to appear in another way. That has very little to do with this shot, and as for this shot, I love it! This is quite splendid, elegant work. I'm glad you dug this up and are showing it the light of day here. Marvelous!
