Wonderful Alan, we used to get these here in south London along with red and white admirals, small and large tortoise shells etc etc. The vast amount of development has changed all that. Would you be shocked when I tell you, I can pass a whole season, without seeing even the common species like the large white. I haven't seen a decent specimen in 3 to 4 years locally. If I travel a mile or so to the eco park, I can find an abundance of butterflies and moths. Go figure?
