Description
A rare foray for me into the European Theatre.
There was a time when the appearance of birds would have told mariners that they were nearing the end of their voyage. Well once, they watched for the first Spitfires...
I never met my maternal grandfather, he survived the war but drifted away to another life. I suppose initially he, well, ran away to the "Circus..."- the circus under the big "blue-top" that is. Determined to fly a Spitfire (as you do) he cut a few years from his age so he could join the EATS in Australia, the Empire Air Training Scheme, and left Australia bound for the UK just a few weeks before Pearl Harbor. After finishing his training and serving a few months in Spits in the recently reformed 453 Squadron (of Malaya fame), he was posted to 131 Sq RAF at the end of '42, spent a few months on various sorties and convoy patrols to ward against the "Hun" before starting the long journey home in August '43.
It was time to bring Spitfires to New Guinea....

I've altered the texture of Bazze's splendid Spitfire VB with 131 Sq markings. You may of course recognise BeyondVR's Liberty ship.

Nicely put together, the shipwakes look good.
Indeed...very nice render and dramatic angle. You might want to put a bit of a reflective surface on the water, however (at least for the sunlight) as well as a few figures on the deck of the Liberty Ship (they wouldn't have to be detailed at this distance - just a few lo-res stick figures to give the impression of a working crew).

Good POV and this model is a classic. Good to see you made some changes to the texture. I started doing a 452 sqn RAAF texture for Bazze's Spitfire but never got round to finishing it. Cool image!
