Description
Full size is a must.
Without much doubt in photography the most challenging lighting situations are night and snow. I have also found them to be difficult in poser so this work is not so much a story of the character but rather just a story of technique, trying to get a good look for a snow scape at night scene.
I dedicate this to Heitaikai (Heike) who has a real talent for dramatic and yet believable lighting in dark scenes. I am always just so impressed at how she works with her light sets and how she keeps her images so seemingly underlit and yet you can see all that needs to be. And of course her absolutely intricate set design.
Thanks to Mint for her Highlander freebie and Lyn for her Lynx Millenium cat morph.

Very lovely lady and great scene I'm actually glad to see this snow scene as the temps are going to be pushing double-digits today, so any thought of cold is going to be very nice
excellent
Great choice of seasons at this point... anyway one can to cool off. Love the scene and you did great with the lighting Roxy, but then you always do. You pulled off a feat with the snow and creeping darkness... Beautiful work.
I think you did a brilliant job on this dedication Roxy, the snowscape is very convincing. Then again you always put so much care into your images that they turn out great
Beautiful looking scene, excellent atmosphere.
My thoughts are a bit different that FaeMikes as the temps around here are dropping and the thought of the white fluffy stuff coming in a few months is a downer. Love snow, not the cold that comes with it. Love this scene! Great lighting. Always love these snow scenes where the girls hardly have any clothes on running through the forests. They are pretty tough these warriors of yours. (Just teasing you!) Excellent job Roxy!
I absolutely love the colors here, the blue and yellow/orange are wonderful. Superb , Roxy!
A wonderful scene and character. Great job on the snow too :o-)
i'm impressed by both your styles and work.
Nice piece!
Great scene and colors!!
What an awesome scene in your very unique style. I can't believe that you dedicated it to me. Thank you so much for this and for your kind and encouraging words, Roxy. Your image is so impressive and as you wrote, full size is a must to see all the wonderful details. You did a great job with the snow and the lighting.
Cool and Beautiful work, Roxy-sensei! love this tone of color.
How lovely Roxy.. so beautiful and uniquely yours. I really am impressed with the snow and the lighting and the posing is so very natural.
Awesome image Hugs Susan~
I think she needs more clothes on..It's cold..LOL.. Nice fur coat. Excellant work as usual!
WOW, this is amazing
Love this work my friend!!!
Very beautiful winter scene!
cool work my friend!!
Super work! The lighting and color are excellent. Well done on the falling snow. You've succeeded nicely in keeping it dark, yet displaying everything. Not easy in such a busy scene. Excellent work.
Oh WOW!! What an outstanding winter scene, amazing light and FX!
I like your choice of pov. It has helped you overcome the difficult problems of "night" renders. For some reason your pov puts me right their. Nice choice - nice work
Have to agree with you with regards to properly-lit dark scenes. Sadly overdone by both the BBC (on this side of the Atlantic) and Hollywood (of late) to make up for a lack of substance... but done well can be awesome... think Band of Brothers (HBO, yes??). And maybe (horror of horrors) Harry Potter. If I could critique this slightly without upsetting you.... while there are lots of little details here that delight & surprise, there aren't any shadows to give the image depth (shadows in a snowstorm I hear- OK point taken). Also to get the nightime feel I would dark-grad from the top and maybe fog the last 10-20% toward the bottom. If I'm teaching you to suck eggs, as I probably am, feel free to tell me to p* off & have a glass of wine. I can take it, if there's a win-win :)
superb and well done!!
This is one very beautiful render Roxy, love the blue colors against the gray ones, superb work love it.
Full view allows one to appreciate the lighting. Cool character, creepy looking critters.
Wonderful work!!! Your intentions are fully sukceeded here!! :o)
I am always impressed at the amount of detail you can put into a scene without having it look overcrowded or chaotic... full screen versions are a must for every image you post, just to make sure nothing is missed! This is a great result for a challenging concept - as you said, the technical difficulties of snow are many, and paired with approaching dark they are doubled, so hats off to you for taking it on!
After looking at this I want to do a winter scene now, thank you for the inspiration, great image!
