Description
When Loki discovered that the mistletoe had been excluded, he made an arrow out of it's boughs. As the gods were making merry with Baldr, tossing all manner of things at him that they knew could not harm him, old blind Hoor stood alone. Loki approached and asked why he did not honor his brother by attempting to harm him. Hoor replied that he had neither a weapon to cast nor the sight to cast it. Loki furnished him both, and Baldr fell dead when struck with the mistletoe arrow. Hoor, realizing too late what he had done, fled. This proved his undoing, as it made the act a murder rather than an accident, and a murder demands justice. Needless to say, Loki took off as well.
Poor old Hoor, what a perfect patsy....
I meant to post this link with last nights' picture, but forgot. This is the music that got
me thinking about this series.

Excellent composition! Love the light!
excellent job on this scene! composition and lighting are perfectly executed...really like how the colors pop :)
Wow, wonderful tale and the render is so sensational. Really well done on both.
Very dramatic. The choice of the fire colors speaks to the power of the moment. The tightly framed kiltered view gives the feeling of confusion that surrounds assasinations. Thoughtfully executed.
I love the Norse sagas ... This plot shows again very good, as is crafty Loki. Who is it there in the background? Munin and Hugin? Fabulous presentation, very well done.
Superb piece Seth.
wonderful scene....
Fabulous render! Awesome pc. of music (Oh how hearing music like this makes me miss my MP3 player and those thousands of songs I had stored on it...)
Gorgeous image! Wonderful color and great poses that perfectly match the story telling.
fabulous picture
Excellent story and scene, Seth!
Love it...you really excellently portrayed the emotion in this picture, the anguish and horror of the act. Seems as though Loki is very good at getting away with things. But if he didn't, he wouldn't be a very good trickster! Well done..this is awesome art! OXOXOXO Jane
Very nice work Seth, looks dramatic :)
