The light gives the feeling of coolness on a hot day with fascinating shapes to the concrete, looks like it was a candidate for trying a bit of HDR to get a bit more detail in the highlights.
Light and form - always there, but seldom seen except through the eyes of master photographer. Arresting and beautiful (although I know it wasn't designed for the aesthetics...)

Well, ya know, the Romans invented concrete (they needed something to put all of their graffiti on, after all,) and so there's no way that concrete can be boring! I mean, not with an ancient Roman lineage. And I have to say that in looking at this shot, I know a few UrbEx (urban explorer) people who would commence to a bit of extreme (and possibly embarrassing) drooling over this image. It's got me drooling, and my Muse actually sat up, put down her iPod and started doing that Muse thing again...and that's a good thing. What I really like about this is the way in which you've captured the nice way in which concrete ages. The light and shadow, and sense of vacancy is marvelous! This is really super work! Oh, and by the way, did I tell you that I like this?

One of the best things about coming to photos after everyone else has commented is getting to read what they wrote...love Chip's "sense of vacancy",...we've seen and experienced a lot of that in our coastal artillery haunts:) Ahhhh, the light!
