Description

We live in a small town in New Hampshire and the states motto is 'Live Free or Die'. We have no state tax or sales tax. Cigarettes, alcohol and gasoline are cheaper here. BUT when you live on a private lane with 49 other homes, the town does not provide water or trash pickup. Our water comes up from deep water wells and the local fire department does not have a city hydrant to access water. So in the middle of our area, there is a homemade pond for the firefighters to pump water in case of a fire. Over the years, the pond has been taken over by pond weeds and cat-o-nine-tails. Equipment was brought in to remove all the vegetation and while they were here, the pond was dug deeper and a little bit bigger. The frogs were so confused that they all moved to the edges of the pond and did not move as I photographed the bigger ones. Now we need rain to fill it up again. Do zoom! As you can see, I have my camera back but I am not happy with the focus. More testing to come! Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

A super collage of these very cute little frogs. I guess they reckoned that you were the least of their worries after having those big diggers to contend with. I hope you get some rain soon to fill the dam for your fire fighting. Excellent captures.

Excellent shots, Dana; focus looks good to me here, but you're the one who knows what it should be. I hope you decide it's ok, it's hard to be without a camera!

They really look worried! Poor little guys. Can you imagine what you would feel if suddenly a gigantic, monstrous machine will take your house, your neighborhood and change drastically your world?. It,s necessary, of course, but unfortunately we can not explain it to them. About your camera, I hope they can let it run to your liking!

Great collage of the beautiful frog (Without frogs, we would all be eaten by insects) ;-)

I hope that you get enough rain to refill the pond and give these displaced frogs a suitable place to live.

Great pictures and sdtory Dana. I guess nothing is perfect. No state tax and no sales tax sounds good, no trash pick up and no fire hydrants is not so good. I like New Hamphires motto.

Live Free or Die, Dana!! Yes!! This has been the driest summer here in New Hampshire that I can remember...grass all brown, gardens wilted...and your pond empty. I hope the frogs can find some water somewhere!! Our koi pond usually has plenty of frogs, but we have a rather large garter snake that seems to be making meals out of them! Hopefully there won't be a fire on your lane!!

Great set of POVs and clarity in this neat montage of the handsome little persons, Dana. Unfortunate that they were put through the stress of relocation. But I am confused. You say you live in New Hampshire, but I was under the impression that you resided in Florida, and was a big honcho in your condominium complex. Apparently you must have moved since then. And now I have been informed by my son that the Bolsa Chica Waterway is a combination of both salt and fresh water.
