Description
The idea for this came from a little talk on Facebook about the common names of different mushrooms/funghi. In Danish they are often boring and matter-of-fact descriptive, where as the English names are more imaginative with connotations of fairytales and fantasy. A good example is the species "Amanita virosa", in English called "Destroying Angel". Very appropriate, since it is deadly poisonous for humans :)
The Destroying Angel here is not a wild and flamboyant character, but a humble beauty, just like the mushroom. And equally deadly if she wants to be.

Items from DAZ and myself. Mushrooms modeled by me.
I've put this in the "fantasy" category, but it is as much a surreal composition of course.
Thanks for viewing, comments etc. always welcome and appreciated.
Have a nice day, and don't pick any mushrooms you don't know.

really lovely.
An excellent piece Lars.
Very creative, I like it :)
Nice artwork
Extraordinary! Great!
Beyond awesome!
It's funny, but this is just about exactly the image I expected when I saw the title. The only thing different is the tree I expected them to be near. I think the character fits the mushrooms very well.
Ah yes, there's a Midsomer Murders ep of the same name :) - very violent deaths occurred from it. Great idea to bring the name to life :)
Unique concept. Well done.
This is very beautiful . The white mushrooms and the pale character are a fantastic idea! +5
very great
Interesting concept. The mushroom model is very realistic but I was expecting a bit more color variance.
Great concept, the mushrooms are very well modelled, and their texture work is stunning...excellent posing and lighting too!
Masterful work, lighting is perfect. Great stuff.
Fantastic render, the angel is splendid among these beautiful mushrooms!
nicely done
Wonderful render!!
Excellent concept and exceptional work !
Fantastic idea and well executed.
Very beautiful!
Superb concept and execution (if you'll pardon the pun...)
Beautiful work, excellent choice of colour tones, great job
Lovely work!
love the lack of colour, and jealous on the final render quality(good job!), is that final from vue, and if so, which version(only have 6pro here)...
Wow, an incredible job on many levels. Firstly I love the clean white colors and how they contrast with the vibrant greens. The lady fits perfectly with her fungal companions. Secondly, you did an amazing job of modeling. Those mushrooms are perfect - you should put them onto the market. This is a gorgeous work all around.
MArvelous creation, hight quality work!
Stunning every which way!!!
Wonderfully done. Love how you took cues from the mushrroms for her costume and hair.
Amazing render and clever and imaginitive concept. Awesome work.
WHOA!! That is oh so cool. Just a beautiful job on this!!
