Description
Back from vacation and it was great fun except for the no laptop rule. I will never do that again. I did take an introduction to FaceBook class one night and I am certainly not ready for social networking yet. LOL!
This photo was taken, a few years ago, in the Cypress Swamp section, of the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge (147,392 acres - about 596 square KMs), west of Boynton Beach, Florida. Crustose Lichen, like all lichens, is the cross between alga and fungus. My camera also died and is out to be checked and cleaned. I do not know if there are any salvageable photos in there yet. You might have heard my screams. I will start catching up on comments tonight! It is worth a zoom!
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated.

Fine Lichen macro Dana ... BB I agree with your Son, and why bother with Facebook? - I have had invites, but I would never want to join - no interest on sharing my personal space and sanctuary with some strangers - too risky! maybe even 'Big Brother' ?
You know??.....I did hear a curdling scream at one point...lol...Well I hope your back up and running as it would be a darn shame to not see you posting all these absolute cool captures...(smiles)...
Great capture, Dana!! One of the weird and almost "alien" life forms on Earth!! Perfect corporation between two very remote related species. I read lately that the human body inside and outside have a couple of hundreds bacterial "allied" living outside on the skin and inside the digestion system. If they wasn't there we would be more exposed for sicknesses and alike! Always annoying when something suddenly don't work! :o[
Excellent shot my friend.
