many thanks for dropping by, just a post of a pic from a sunset in my city i took many years ago during the haymen fire here in colorado.
but now we have the waldo fire in which i have been mentioning, our city is now on fire!!!
the flames have moved from the upper foothills into the lower part and has destroyed several houses and the world famous flying w ranch, my mother just visisted this place a few weeks back for cancer surviors get together. it was est. in 1957 and is no more. all residents in a massive area on the north west of the are and have been evacuated. i'm about 25 miles east of the fire. so i will be safe as long as the city don't burn down. cdot has shut down interstate 25 for several miles to ease the evacuations going on, this is the wildest thing i have ever seen in colorado. been here since 1967. you can go to kktvnews.com for videos if you like.. was not a pleasent site seeing people loose their houses.
news just said some 32.000 people so far have been evacutaed. so i pray.. lol and thanks a million for your concerns, prayers and attention. lol Steve

They may be pretty colors but orange clouds and red moons are never good. So sorry to hear about the Flying W Steve :( Stay safe my friend and I hope the fire doesn't move into the town. Yikes. We had some bad winds up here today and was wondering if you were getting them down there. Guess I'll watch the videos and see what's going on. You take care hon.

Very dramatic photo Steve, I'm really sorry to hear about the horrible fires in your area. I will keep everyone there in my prayers and hopefully it will end soon
Am all to familiar with that color of sky, be safe!
Take care of yourself out there, buddy. Scary, scary stuff. Hey, there's always room here in my house in PA for ya'. But you'll have to fight the dog for the couch! LOL. I'm kidding! I hope a little levity brings rain. :) Best wishes, my friend.
Knocking on the sky is always cool! Well done!
Strange how such a beautiful sky hides the tragedy of what created it..Constantly get my news updates regarding yours and others situations and hope that something positive comes your folks way and soon.I used to live for a short time in Fort Collins and know the topography and scenic beauty the state has to offer and it's a shame that such beauty is in jeopardy..And wow...The famous flying W is no more....that in itself is a tragedy..what a shame..Stay as safe as one can be in a situation such as your in and won can only hope for the best my friend...
I wish you and your fellow citizens a lot of courage in this tragic situation. Beautiful shot.
Wonderful sky!!!

Hard to beat Natures Beauty. GREAT capture!
Beautiful sky. I hope the fire issues have improved. This is so sad and difficult.
Fantastic sky, but too bad it required a massive fire to create. Living in a high fire danger area myself & having been prepared to evacuate on a couple of occasions, I understand your situation. Good luck to you & your fellow Coloradans...
Blimey EDoggie, that sounds like one hell of a fire to me! I hope it doesn't encroach on anyone elses lives. BTW you mistyped and called me Frig on your last com ment. had me in stitches for hours!!
on 9NEWS they just showed video for two hours straight of the Waldo fire... It showed all these houses for about a miles stretch that were at the top of a hill on fire.... I'm afraid what I'm going to see in the morning when I watch the news.... I heard days ago Garden of the Gods was closed down - did that burn? if not, do you think it's going to burn? ....Boulder was on fire today too - this sucks.
Amazing sky shot my friend!
Lovely sky capture and so sad about the fire and people losing there houses... Hope you stay safe man.
Superb shot Sad news for the people who must leave their houses, take care of you, Steve !
