Description
Digitalis purpurea (Common Foxglove), Dutch: Vingerhoedskruid.
With two hover-flies (zweefvliegen) diving down.
I hope they had a good landing, but I guess those hairs will tickle them.
Spotted while working in the garden, where I was most of the day.
I feel like I'm trapped in the house, so I'm happy,
today it was mostly dry, yesterday it rained all day.
Thank you very much for your visit.
Wishing you all a lovely day further.
BTW!!!: I did not rotated the picture, this flower had fallen and was lying on the ground half bent.

wow Mies - so great photo . looks like invasion ;) .. great !
Superb action capture of them! :)
Super lighting to catch these daredevils!
Splendid capture, Mies!!!
What fun!! I can the engines.....
I don't know which I'm enjoying more, the beautiful foxglove or the diving hover-flies. This is a great photo and I'm glad you were able to be outside and enjoy yourself.
fantastic capture...with yellow helicopters!
Awesome capture Mies. Perfect timing. I'm thinking you rotated the image 90 degrees. The bells on foxglove typically do not point upwards like that or they would fill with rain. But for this image they are far better viewed in this direction. :)
WOW! They like tiny aeroplanes diving for an attack :-) guess they were only attacking the nectar :D A really wonderful shot, Jacomina.
What more helicopters!!! Superb capture Jacomina.
Wow..what a photo!! Simply marvelous :)
The upward pointing flowers are perfecly complemented by the vertical flight of the hoverflies !
awesome in-flight capture and beautiful plant colors, great work mies!:)*5
cool capture
You did a simply amazing job on this lovely photo Mies
amazing shot
Fantastic, looks like a scene from a film about aircraft on a mission!! " Buzzer Leader to Buzzer two. We are entering now! Let's take away all the honey, Joe!!"
Fantastic and very cool capture Mies
this is wonderful image
Outstanding capture of these beautiful flowers Mies!!
I'm so silly I thought they grew like that. How wonderful for bugs, a private swimming pools for each. Any belly flops? :) Beautiful! Glad you had sunshine and could go out today. Here it is all rain, high winds and tornadoes.
excellent image of the beautiful flowers with the diving insects...floratastic... chills and thrills
Wow! To have captured just one of the hover flies would have been cool, but you captured two in one shot! Excellent! And I love the bright, warm sunshine highlighting the flowers! Wonderful work!
This is excellent , amazing capture dear friend...Thanks.
Wonderful colors and lighting my friend, very impressive work!
I see a third one, already inside, off to the left! :)
I have never seen Hover-flies looking like dive-bombers, only ever horizontally, there you go! - another discovery and a first for me ;) very funny Jacominchen, and I am glad to know, that you are enjoying the 'outdoors' so much, I would too - if it wasn't raining right now. ;( take care, BB
Nice, op een geheel eigenwijze vastgelegd. Dit zijn we niet gewoon als je weet dat deze bloemen recht staan. Mooi en goed idee van jou.
What a wonderful capture!! Glad you were able to go out in the garden!! :)
Very beautiful macro photoshot Mies, love it.
