I'm usually not too fond of driftwood because of its capricious forms that won't be bothered with aesthethics, but this composition is great. Love how the live parts in the background naturally supplement the dead parts in the front.
Oh, asweeping swooping shot, swirling down majestically, with the water and landscape in the background. And the contrast of the bleached hues on the wood, with the deep dark shadowed background, is dramatic and fine. The shot feels monumental. You do wonders with driftwood, both seeing what it's 'saying', and capturing those portions that give it great voice. Here, that voice is Operatic. A beautiful piece. And happy birthday again to Carin...I hope you have many, many more in light and good health!

Oh Hun - how marvelous! I love the wonderful depth here - the various layers of wood, the water, the far beach, trees and then the sky! Perfect composition. I see lion claw marks in the driftwood - but that's probably just because I come from Africa and have a lion as a pet!!! LOL... Thank you so very much for this lovely image and dedi!
