Behold... a 56 hour Render... for real... hahaha,
Is this a record breaking render? It took 56 hrs. 22min. 10scs. to complete this render. NOW I know why people use Carrara, Bryce or Vue for such scenes. There are no added postworked backgrounds in this, it is complete as you see it rendered in Daz Studio 4 Pro. Only postwork was to add a bit of clarity in Adobe Photoshop CS5 - that's it, just clarity...which brightened it up a tad bit.
As for the render time... the forest... never do a full forest/woods scene like this using ALL lights, shadows, Raytrace & Occlusions and the rest. I was tempted to stop it twice until I saw his face...hahahaha, not to copy a song, but... I liked his face, so I let it render on and on until finally - completion.
Next time however, I will use Carrara for a full forest scene such as this - it's the better rendering software for such scenes, I didn't even try Reality, because I thought there would be too much adjusting to the surfaces and textures.

Well, you certainly win the award for the most patient renderer. I think my PC would have gone out of the nearest window after about 24 hours. Fortunately, though, the end result looks spectacular. Beautifully posed with wonderful scenery and an absolutely top notch DOF effect. Well worth the wait. Great render.
It really is a stunning work of art Mercy, and I think well worth the wait. Obviously your patience knows no bounds and that is part of the reason you are a great illustrator and author. You don't settle for anything but perfection, and it shows in your body of work, including here. Everything about this image is breathtaking, and all that is left now is for you to come up with a story for the image ;)
Well my girl, I opened it to full view and spent quite awhile just plain enjoying! Your attention to detail is marvelous. Oh, and yes, I also like his face. I really do believe that is your best image to date. Your growth along the way is sure evident here. It is a powerful and beautiful work. Applause, Applause!!!

I looked at this in diviantart, but I didn't zoom... I zoomed because you said you didn't stop the render cause you liked his face - Understandable... I noticed the branch right off to his right and at first it lookded like a bird with open wings.... ....I avoid long renders, I make most if not all pictures in stages. I'd do the sky, the house and road in one render and blur the house like you did... then, I'd use that as a backroung and put the man/horse on a small island with the fence in front - The background render would probably take 10 minutes and the front image may take a half hour... You could really cut down on wear and tear on your computer rendering that way, your computer doesn't need to be thinking for 2 days when you can render in stages in less than an hour.
Good things come to those who wait.
WOW!! Fantastic scene, well worth your wait! Admire your patience, impressed by your computer (my copy of DS would probably have crashed after 10 min. trying to render something like this).

Marvelous scene...but I think I have you beat render time wise. I had one that was 84 hours. Never again! As usual, you're attention to detail is wonderful!
