A sweet shot! I think that the best part of this unique capture is the thick mass of moss on the top. But then again - the PNW is famous for its moss!
in the category of common object/very uncommon capture. I mean, it's so right it's as if you set it up this way. (I know you didn't, of course.) In addition to being a wonderful shot, it's also a wonderful find, where the shot is partly that you saw it to begin with (ie, you knew it was a perfect shot). Great that it's covered with all that greenery: It's like a wig. The surroundings look like a property that's been long abandoned. And your light is scintillating, as you have the booth in shadow (abandoned, forgotten) while the rest is in beautiful forest-like light. I loved this shot when it went up; and btw, now that I have your camera, I can see how, even when I go into a small excerpt from a large jpg, I get the kind of detail you get here. Your detail is sharp as can be. A restive shot with wonderful subject matter; and your pov is just right for the subject. (Btw, I'm getting used to the layout of the SX40, but really, I've hit more buttons in the last week than a shirt manufacturer in a crowded warehouse. I'm finally getting the right grip. The camera's quality is just wonderful, though, and has gotten me through the terrors of its overcrowded facade...) Well I was going to do more, but I spent so much time on that flower shot, I have to move on. More the next time...I love this shot!
