Description
The Roman Colosseum or Coliseum, originally known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, was commisioned in AD 72 by Emperor Vespasian. It was completed by his son, Titus, in 80. Obviously the original errrrrrr 'playing surface' would have covered up these rooms. I bet there are a few old ghosts rattling around down there somewhere!
FILM, from the vault.

you bet it,Romans have proved to be great architects
Stunning.
Great! I like the view point! Very good capture!
This is a splendid insight to this fantastic and fascinating piece of architecture. I would love to spend some time there.
For sure it is amazing! It always makes me think that if they brought this back today it would be wildly popular everywhere.
Somewhere I have never been...in fact I have never been most places.
And built using a form of concrete we don't understand anymore. Smart people the Ancient Romans. Great Image as well. everyone else take the outside, an inside pic is rare.
Wow hon this is very interesting and to bad it has been lost to all ruble great shot.
Amazing!
is sooo cool and interesting...my head kino is activ!!!!!!!!!!
One of the most famous places in the world? Maybe? And this a great shot! Well done mate! Rob
Very cool capture
so complex, a real tribute to the builders that so much remains
I can still hear the pain and suffering of those who have lost their lives in the name of entertainment!
Le site est magnifiquement mis en valeur avec des couleurs très pastels
Thanks for the look in the past. Great view point.
Nice !!
I'll bet some Ghosts are seeking a lion to claim some missing bone, lost as they errrr "played"(Sorry, I can't hold it). Great picture! This jewel of the story is fantastic. I read somewhere that it took about 1000 sailors to place a canvas tent for a roof. Sailors were used because only they were able to maneuver properly with the canvas.
great pic, been there done that:P in the late 70's
Great POV. The building is doubly remarkable in that almost all entrance/exit patterns in existing arenas are based upon this building.
Superb capture my friend. God Bless.
Nicely detailed shot of what must be one of the most wonderful buildings from antiquity. Its sheer size really does take ones breath away, never mind thinking about what they watched there all those years ago.
OUTSTANDING CAPTURE EXCELLENT VERY WELL DONE
Impressive is it not!
I have seen thousands of photos of the Roman Coliseum but this is the best shot of the inside that I have seen. Excellent shot!
