Description
Taken near the reservoir at Mt. Tabor in Portland, which is just a couple of blocks from where my son & his family live. I don't know what kind of bird this is. I sent this picture to a friend who knows her birds pretty well & she thought it was probably a song sparrow, but when I did a google search on them, I couldn't find any that were this dark. Anyone have any other ideas?
I won't be able to post for a few days & may or may not be able to view the photography gallery (which seems to be getting better & better, with an amazing number of really fine photos to admire daily). A great weekend to everyone & hope to have some photos to post when I return.
As always, please zoom...

beautiful !
Certainly a Sparrow of some sort. My book only covers Eastern birds. A totally beautiful bird and flower capture.
Definitely a sparrow but I couldn't find it in my Sibleys. Nice pic anyway.
Excellent capture my friend, super exposure and shot!
SUPERLATIVE SHOT!
magnificent
A sweet and cute little guy! Love the view as well. You have managed to get a wonderful close up of this seemingly so soft bird!
A splendid capture of this little bird on the blossom tree. Super clarity.
