Description
Just outside Port Angeles, Washington, is a road that leads to a place called Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic Mountains.
We stopped on the way down at a spot where there's a bit of parking and a paved trail to an overlook, and boy, is it an overlook!
The vista is in the other direction ... this is a shot of the cliff face. Those are tall trees you're looking down on, not little bushes.
The moss in the mountains is lovely at this time of year! :)
If you know the road, this is the place on the left just before the tunnels as you're going up to the ridge.

I like this shot a lot. The rain forests of the Northwest are so amazing.
Wow, that moss is incredible. I remember seeing things like that when I was a kid and our family took a trip to the NW coast and eventually all the way up to Alaska. This shot sure brings back memories. That looks like it's not exactly a vista for people with height-issues, though ;)

Oooh, this is super! If I were a giant, I'd be tempted to lay on my belly and rub my cheeks over the mossy rock, all while getting a nose-full of tree stuff. Fortunately, I'm not a giant able to do such things, and so that particular bit of geography is safe from a massive amount of cheek rubbing. I love that element of this image: it's so tactile in so many ways. It's more than just captured light in different patterns. I like this a lot!

lush & mysterious, and budding with brooding shadows...because of your rolling lines and piggybacked mounds, etc, it's like a big overgrown spill. The dark left half is beautiful balance to the rich falling right half. And the foreground trees make it seem almost scratched by a bony presence. It almost seems underwater, in a way...Beautiful & ambiguous & full & multifarious, and very plush & lush. Wonderful you're both seeing places like this...
Now that is a moss shot. I really like how you captured all sorts of variations of green and the different reflectivities.
