Description
...yesterday while beachcombing, bird watching and walking Mandy along Ediz Hook we found hundreds/thousands of smoothly rounded and fairly flat river rocks.
...having long admired the amazing work of Rendo artist, NefariousDrO, I just had to try my hand at rock stacking:)
...and to add to the scene, a Yang Ming container ship just happened to be sailing by...actually sitting by waiting for the harbor pilot to come out and take over navigation responsibilites for movement from the Strait of Juan de Fuca eastward into Puget Sound and then southward to the Port of Seattle or Tacoma.

I have yet to try rock-stacking, but I know that I will! This is just one more bit of inspiration! I love the abstract quality the stack gives this image and I especially like the ship out there waiting for the harbor pilot. That made me think of the television show: Babylon-5...you always knew something cool was going to happen whenever the POV shifted to a star-ship captain in communication with B5 traffic control, and hearing the polite, crisp dock-master (usually a woman) saying in a no-nonsense way: "Pleas surrender navigational control to the docking computer.) Whenever I heard that, I knew that a kinda cool special effects sequence was coming up. Does that happen in water-harbors too?
Wonderful perspective. Beautiful shot.. makes me homesick.
Interesting to see the ancient Japanese rock stacking with the Yang Ming in the background!
Great POV Bill! Interesting and even including information on the HUGE ship out in the bay! Well found on that! lol Hope your keeping well my friend! Rob
