Great painting Jocko, I used to shoot a lot of artworks the trick was to be dead square on to the painting and use a longer lens 100mm to 200mm as this helps cut out distortion also if you get reflections use a polarizing filter, and use that tripod and a cable release to stop shake.

Excellent! I usually scan (my wife's) paintings and then print out copies for her. Getting the colours just right, though, takes a bit of time.
