Description
This cathedral in Chitre dates from the 18th century but was substantially remodeled in 1988.
The entire ceiling is made of polished mahogany.
Unlike many cathedrals that impress through ostentation, this one is striking for its elegant simplicity and fine balance of gold and wood.

Central America is one of the few places that has mahogany trees.Africa is another.it is called Mahogany in the Philippines but a wood expert I know told me it is not really mahogany but Luann beautiful church
