Description
We have two of our younger granddaughters in for a visit. That means an after dark flashlight safari. We found a bunch of large snails, two separate toads and a bunch of geckos. The unknown toads are up first since I have seen a couple of snail postings this week. I think that these are both plain American Toads. But my 51 year old field guide states that they do not exist in Florida. I liked the way these two looked so here they are anyway. Don't bother to zoom and what I mean when I say that, there will be no increase in size or detail!
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated.

Such cuties!
Wonderful captures, dear Dana. Hugs for all day. Di. xx
These guys must have been stowaways on one of those snowbird runs. ;~)
Great catch on these little guy's.
looks like he needs some "knee deep" "knee deep" water.. great shot Dana..
Beautiful shots!
Superb and accurate macrophotos !
Sometimes the books don't have all of them listed. ;) Great night captures! :)
Excellent capture! :)
Cool collage of the little guys, sitting and wondering as to their fate, Dana. Apparently, your field guide needs to be updated. Almost loads of toads abducted on your nightime safari. Though somewhat related, this species is not as handsome as frogs, I fear. They could sure use a dermatologist.
NICE GUYS
Great find, Dana! I haven't seen any toads here, but I don't go out after dark on safari looking for things, either...
You sound to have had an interesting safari around your place. These toads look as surprised as you were to see them. Excellent captures.
Every time I see a Toad it reminds me of the movie "Oh Brother where Art Thou" with George Clooney where when they woke up along the river bank and thought their friend was turned into a Toad....lol.. "Delmar O'Donnell: We thought you was a toad! Pete: What? Delmar O'Donnell: [leaning in, speaking slower] We thought you was a toad!" Sounds to me you had quite the safari Dana!....(smiles)..
I remember hearing that they are good helpers for keeping bugs out of the garden.I use to have fun catching them when I was a child.Good shots of these warty creatures.
great shots and lovely guys
Oh that sounds fun!! Cute toads.

Great find Dana they look the same as British toads but a bit redder on the back.
