I took a lot of liberty with White Bat in that actual bats hate the cold and really hibernate in the winter. However, when I was rounding out my team I wanted a third flier to fit in with the idea of 3 speedsters, 3 strong guys, and 3 fliers, and all of the other animal/element combos were done and created. So, rather than change one of the others , since I liked the rest, I figured that the "ice mutant" had to be some kind of flying creature rather than the obvious arctic fox or polar bear that most go with when doing a character of this type. I could have used another bird, but I thought that a bat would be unique, and I made him an "albino" (white fur, red eyes) because I thought that it would be a cool visual and fit with the ice/snow motif. Later on I came up with the back story of how his species is different from normal Earth bats in that they don't hibernate in the cold, and how his red eyes are actually bionic implants to get around the problems that I eventually discovered that I'd have with such a character. As noted above in his bio, he is the 12th Duke of Frostonia, which is a country located in an area known as the Frigidus Mountains on his home planet of Fraxis. The capitol city of Frostonia is called, "Froston," and this is the exact location where ""W.B." is from, as well as his younger brother, "Zapf Dingbat," a.k.a. "Alabaster White Bat."
