Such a tree is called a nurse log - how appropriate is it not, and how wonderfully you have captured it.
Complete coverage! What species is that plant?
nature will have its way
Great image!!
A beautiful pic of the wonders of nature.
i just love the idea that everything eventually puts itself back into the landscape and this is such a good illustration of that
This is an interesting capture Bill. never saw anything like this!
Now that looks fabulous Bill definitely needs the zoom..
The ultimate in recycling. Again, the light and the colors are so fantastic and beautiful. It's almost like being in heaven. Majestic and awe-inspiring even in the smallest details. And the silence of these woods. Sound is muffled, yet clear. I wish I could visit this type of forest again. Keep up the good work! :-)
Everything has its uses in nature, fabulous!!
the cycle of life Very beautiful capture
Nature has a way of using everything that is available to create beauty.
It's a given that this thing happens, what a great shot this is Bill, well seen and captured my friend.
Wooooooooooow! Can't get any closer to Mother nature than that! Stunning vibrant colors!
What a wonderful capture of how our gorgeous forests work. Although, I know from experience (having sprained an ankle in just that kind of ground) you have to be really careful when hiking in deep forest like this. Lots of not-as-solid-and-level-as-you-might-think places! Beautiful work, Bill!
Wow, Bill, you're taking me on a walk thru my own backyard. These fotos make me feel as though I'm walking thru the redwoods.
Zoom definitely worthwhile - great details and POV
The way life sprouts forth in such myriad & unusual forms in a forest is amazing. You've captured it in all it's glory here - I love the color & lushness of this image...
The atmosphere you have captured in this series is just magical, Bill! This is an amazing look at nature's recycling program - so much rich detail... I keep zooming on this - I half expect to see a Faerie peeking out at me! :-D
It is a really lovely capture of all this green. :-)
zoom is a must!!wonderful image
gorgeous image
SUPERLATIVE COMPOSITION
A super capture Bill. Must be joy being there. God Bless.
Various shades of green dominate this stellar composition, Bill.
Wow, this is an awesome photo of Mother nature at her best! Wonderful capture Bill!
I love the light. Beautiful image! You did some really nice work in there, hon. :*
Beautiful Love it Hugs Susan~
Tremendous shot bill.. Really, a truly great shot showing natures glory! Well done mate! Rob
in a series of some very complex shots, you have, here, a closeup of a whole colony to itself, with the forest in the background---but in the background. A big carpeted hunk, beautifully lush, and you captured the roots and other stringy vines beneath it, showing the 'jaws' and under-workings right beneath the exquisite "results" (ie, the leaves). And the straight wood beneath that, all moss-covered. (Or leaf-covered, as I don't know exactly what specie of plant that is.) A whole colony, a whole 'city'. It's really lush & varied, with a few flowers in view; and you included the top of the trunk, which acts like a beautiful 'frame' to hold it all in. Beautifully seen, and though it's an "excerpt" (I assume MOST of what you photograph in a redwood forest will be an excerpt), it feels huge and quite unending. Beautiful capture of your title too.
