I love this sort, even though they still make the same old holes in my plants! I wonder how long the exposure would be to get motion-blur. LOVE that sort of music...thanks for the memories.

Well, talk about timing..... Right now, I'm listening to KDFC out of San Francisco.... The guy was talking about garlic on escargot... I think I'll pass on the escargot - I'd much rather just look at photos like this one, Tara. I've never seen a snail with colors like this. Great capture!

The music really fits so well with this beautiful picture. A great sharp shot of this beautiful colored house; and I love the POV too!

The detail on the shell is beautiful while also being soft, and you caught it in a beautiful spot in relation to the whole picture---ie, in the upper 3d of the picture, where the 2 main branches splay out towards us to the bottom. A very dynamic choice. And nice lines above the shell too. I realize you may be able to shoot only what the angle 'gives' you, as I don't know how much leeway you have in such a tight area; but your eye settled here & I'm sure there were other choices, however limited, and this choice has real grace & beauty, so to me it's a choice through & through and shows the total ease you have with composition & light, an ease that comes from several years of creating & capturing with total thought & concentration. Finally, the piece has a beautiful green-yellow tint to it, where it's all of a tone; and it's perfect for the creature. Beautifully caught & conceived. AND! Any image that's accompanied by Howlin' Wolf can't be bad. (I saw the video when this went up.) These old southern blues masters made their way up the Mississippi the way this snail is making its way down the branch. Maybe when the snail gets to the bottom, it'll pick up an electric guitar, snarl out an "I been travelin' wayyyyyyyy too long..." and get a bunch of insect to join him. It could happen, it's possible. Check 'm out in about a month. Ya never know what a snail can do...

He is almost in your favourite colour, (I learned something today and I should have known better) 'yellow - mellow', more like lemon/lime-green, close enough - but the Forsythia would be, now I like to see that ! I cannot say, having ever seen them (the flowers) here in the land of OZ, when they are ready, maybe we can have a little 'squizz' here ? BB PS ever so slowly, am I working my way through all the mail ;)
