It seems like I've been waiting for spring to get here forever. We've had several days of sunshine, flowers are starting to bloom, cherry trees are blossoming ... Yay! :)

It's frakkin' cold here in Chicago. Somebody decided to turn Spring off for a bit. Oh well...at least I get to see some nice, Springy color and wonderful inner bits of one of those flower things I keep hearing about. This is quite lovely and I love the warm, intense-but-not-overpowering color. Super!

well you already know I love this. What you've done with this intense macro is somehow exploded the sheer essence of the flower into our eyes---ie, its utter redness, its undulant waves from dark to lighter reds, from shadow to light, petal to stamen---you've exploded that essence right in our faces till it washes us over. I mentioned Georgia O'Keeffe before, because she did that with paints: But this is your own, a typical tara flower macro where, by moving into its very 'soul'---and through your signature postwork---you reveal its inner power, ba-boom! And your composition---with the stamens pointing to the right (on a diagonal) gives motion to what could be a very static shot (it could be static because of that intense hue which, in some hands, could be static and all consuming). Also, you've cropped it beautifully, letting the energies go on well past the frame. I could write about this a long time, but I'll conclude with Ka-boom: You've released a nuclear essence, and it fills a space much bigger than the jpg. And it's proof of what I've always said, that flowers at base are among nature's most powerful statements; and they go far beyond the 'delicate persona' that thev're been known for through the centuries. This flower hits with the power of Beethoven. Terrific image.
