Description
I'm not sure why the RAF version apparently was a disappointment, but as we know the USAAF version went on to become one of the most iconic fighters of all time.

Great postwork to create the old photo effect. Very nice.
Love the antique postcard effect!
Great Image. All Merlin Engine P-51's were exceptional Fighters.
Really like the photo effects on these aerial scenes!....(smiles)...
The earlier P-51's lacked speed and range, and had an Allison engine that had terrible preformance values at high altitude... also the original "greenhouse" canopies had terrible visibility... use of the hoods from the Spitfire inproved the visibility issue some... but it wasn't till the airframe was mated with the Merlin engine and a "bubble" canopy plus larger internal fuel stores that the Mustang truely showed it's potential. When it first went into production the RAF ordered a number of them to increase fighter cover over the channel and the home islands... but found that because of the lack of preformance and visibility that it was at best a mediocre aircraft best suited for ground attack and photo-recon...
Variety is the spice of dogfights, its good to remember that the Mustang had an awkward genesis... Great "attic" treasure snap!
