Description
This is the Zeila - a ship that was towed in 2008 and then broke lose in a storm and ended up almost on the beach between Swakopmund and Henties Bay on the Namibian coast. I have been watching her deteriorating since 2009. She is all rusted up but still clinging on to her dignity. I cannot help but wonder if she will still be in one piece next year this time when I go again. I've got more images of her that I will post later.
Thank you for popping in and for your welcome comments and favs on my last upload "Reality".

Lovely capture, but a sad time.
I really like this. I've been hanging out with a bunch of UrbEx people (they hate that term. It sounds like some hokey science fiction planet. I guess the inhabitants would be called the UrbExi. Hmmm...I almost like that. Anyway, I know some of those urban exploration people who'd look at this shot and start itching to actually go on board that grand old hulk and snap as many photographs as hull/deck integrity would allow! Heck, I'm tempted to at least get close! And I hope this means a trip to South Africa/Namibia is in the works, soon! But anyway, now that I've rambled on and on, I should say something about this photograph. And well...I like it a lot. There's something about derelict, dead, skeletonized ships. They're haunting, as you'd expect, and immensely mysterious! What stories would she tell??? Marvelous! I love how evocative this image is!
It looks like the birds like to hang around this dying ship. It is taking a pounding by the waves. There may be chunks missing next year!
