Description
Melton Hill Lake in Tennesseee, USA is one of only 3 locations to host the US national championship rowing events over the last 15 years. During spring break, many college and university teams spend a week practicing on this fine course. This year, the week ended with a one day regatta, a healthy competition on the 2000 meter course. Teams from Kansas to New Hampshire and points south were here for the week.
This is the start of a 2000 meter 8 man race (women this time). The last section of the race is a literal sprint. The finish point is hidden somewhere beyond that last point of land on the right.

Wonderful Capture and info Tom
Looks lkie fun. We have them practicing near here too. They often seem to have a person following them with a megaphone yelling 'Oars' and other words of wisdom. Anyway, there is a popular street performer who follows them with a megaphone....only instead of yelling 'OARS' he yells 'WHORES'!!!!!! It sounds so similar that people barely notice.
MARVELOUS IMAGE!!!
Superb capture my friend. God Bless.
Well done Tom. This has been a major sport in the east coast branch of my family. This looks like a grand rowing venue.
