Description
Imagine a low flying helicopter over your home early in the mornings or late at nights to view the lava that’s threatening your area. Eventually, the FAA had implemented a no-fly-zone in the Kalapana area to protect the residents. There were 3 or 4 helicopters flying over me during this shooting. This particular Helicopter might have been from the "USGS" crew as their picture posted was taken on the same day as mines.... Please Zoom in or see my slide video of "Pulama Pali" . I imagine it's quite difficult to fly a helicopter over lava; they rely on cool air for consistent lift & the hot updraft must cause some difficulty. Kudos to the pilots of those things....
