Mercer Island, Washington.
Yesterday I caught this squirrel gathering dry leaves for her nest. Critters don't generally stand still and let me take their picture, so I was quite pleased to get this. My gallery isn't exactly filled with images in the Animals genre!
Hand held, all the way zoomed, from a really long way away.

Great shot. I'd usually consider the leaves partially obscuring his face to be a hindrance & discard the photo, but it works very well here & actually makes the photo more interesting...

I know what you mean about "standing still," usually just long enough for you to think, "that would make a great phot...." Thanks for your kind comments. I've been away from the photography galleries for a while. A hat-tip to you...Edmonds/Muk, huh? That might be Picnic Point. Well, I might be behind the wheel of one of those blue and white buses down there, but mostly I'm way up north, on the southern approach to Lake Cavanaugh.
Wonderful capture! I know how hard it is to get these little guys! For all those that don't know, we already have baby squirrls here. I have had several calls in the last 3 weeks. It feels like the season starts earlier each year. Tara, I love this shot. It is so very "squirrel"!
