Description
This started because I had a problem with trees I created: Getting the right amount of leaves on them. Based on the settings and the preview the trees should look good with a nice coat of leaves but after they were imported in TG they did look kinda poor. Cranking up the values for the leaf distribution to an unrealistic level gave good looking trees but huge object files that were very memory intensive. So the original trees became autumn trees because those don't have much leaves.
And for summer trees I did find the solution: Scaling the tree down to a height of only a couple of meters.
That's why this render is called "Zen": You have to abandon the realism in order to achieve realism.

"You have to abandon the realism in order to achieve realism". Hmmm, I may use that koan for my meditation session this afternoon. Nice woodland scene, Andy . . . . . . and I also like the path, not just because it's downhill.
Beautiful image and lighting. Great job on the trees! Corrie
Xcellent!
Very nice render Andy. I like the colors very much. Well done.
The upper two-thirds of the image are great. Only thing that seems out of sync is that the leaves seem to be floating about the rocks a bit.
I see nothing wrong with this forest...Depth/Color/Shadows/Lighting are all in the good...Well Done!
nice render Andy
This looks illustrated...realism to me is like a photo...a captured real moment at a certain place and time. Illustrations on the other hand are man-made art that mimics real moments at places. This illustration is cool and looks natural.
Nice colors and shadow placement! Very Natural Creation, Andy!!!
