Ric rac. Braid. Coil. Trim.
It's the artistic dividing line between one thing and another.
This happens to be part of the 1991 Harold Washington Library in Chicago, taken on our trip last fall.
The Photography Challenge for March is on the topic of architecture. Go take a look, and then get out and take some architectural shots of your own! It isn't a contest ... it's just for fun, and the idea is to challenge yourself to do something new and/or different.
Bill and I went out to run some errands today, and planned on taking some photographs for the challenge while we were in town. I grabbed the two camera bags out of the chair next to the front door where Bill had put them while we were getting ready to go out, put them in the trunk of the car while he walked the dog, and off we went. We got to our first stop, opened the trunk, and ... !!! ... imagine my surprise when I saw the two bags were Bill's camera and an extra lens. My camera didn't make it to the car! That will teach me to make assumptions.
Oh well. It was overcast and gray anyway. We'll try again in a couple days, and this time I'll make sure I take my camera! LOL!

Have heard of Ric Rac my whole life and never knew what it was before:) Now I know. Neat details here and a very nicely composed image. Now I'll have to go back and visit my photos of this new-old style building. Note to self: go inside this building the next time we are in Chicago.
This is a great bit of 'ric rac' Tara. BTW you might want to edit the second 'c' out of architecture and always remember the 'p' is silent as in bath!!! Lol.

WOW! A perfect shot for the challenge. Unfortunately I dont live in a place, where I can find examples of exciting Architecture like this.
Tara, I 'm like you, I really like Architectural photos. I think about a story behind the construction of the building and look at the details. Nice Photo.

Wonderful take on this Tara! Gorgeous detail and soft effect of the "never-ending"! Excellent choice of the b&w! A very creative and tasteful spin on this!
This usually decorated a frieze or along the edge of a roof, however, here it looks like decorating the joint between two architectural styles. An odd usage. Good photo of it - intriguing. Keep up the good work. And, I have made many foolish assumptions in my life. We all do. I was expecting you to say ... and the camera bags weren't there (stolen). Thank goodness it wasn't THAT! :-)
