Description
Five out of a total of 88 shots (many of them repeats) I took of these beauties, including rectangular ones, captured over a fifteen day period in February 2012. They were on both the streets and sidewalks of the general neighborhood.
A ZOOM is recommended.
Cheerio, thankx for coming aboard, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Wow did not imagine I would be viewing photographic manhole covers, but they really are interesting and quite different from one another lol. Excellent photography as ever Harry, hugs Jane xx
great collection
Nice job here Harry, these are some cool captures
cool collection and all so different ! nice weekend too :)
I can only imagine what people seeing you may have thought....but this makes for a very interesting collage.
Yes, that's much more like what I'm used to seeing, round and round. Until Andrea posted her oblongs I had no idea that they even existed otherwise. Excellent collection of shots, Harry; I hope you didn't have to go far to find this assortment!
I thought we had to call them 'personhole covers' now?
Interesting to see! and a glimpse at your trainers, too!
quite a collection, love to see them, great!!!
I'll have to look around here to see if we even have any...there are too many people and too many houses here but almost nothing older than 1950 where we live. Neat study of your portals to the underworld:)
LOL at Morningglories comment. I am sure your neighbors are use to use by now. LOL great shots Harry.
Quite the variety Harry! In London these all are dedicated to Royal folk and all sorts of folk.
Fun collage Harry and I did the same thing when I was in Key West. Also for Andrea. I am still editing and trying to cut it down to four.
nice to see all the responses to these. More of your finding-art-under-your-nose; and I appreciate that you photographed so many to get the best of the lot. Even though they're all round, and all have a similar "presence," they each have a different feel. The textures on the surface, the lettering on each one (would you call that the 'font', I don't know), the cracks in the sidewalk around them, the grain, the different hues, the adjoining design in #4, and---I think---your shoes! I assume those are yours. Nice addition, great to see your 'signature' once more. You could call this Minimalist art, w/ fascinating differences in each one, and with a certain minimal poetry as well. Another fine collection from the everyday sights of your world... (btw, I'll address my fav's when I take another break, but know you'd get all the usuals, including this one. My fav's will show up and then stop showing up. I did something in my account or on the fav's page, and until I find out what, I thought it better to leave them be, as I don't want to mess up anyone else in the process...)
