"Meeting New Friends"
This is the second of the album pictures I retrieved for Angora's questions. This is the Appy foal Fanta meeting up with my Chow Chow, Su-tu. For those that don't know, the chow chow is one of the few dog breeds to have the blue black tongue.
Now to answer Angora's question as to what happened to Fanta. Unfortunately as I mentioned yesterday, she was born in late June, and in the horse world their age class reverts back to January 1. She was at quite a disadvantage when being shown because of her size. So after much family discussion of where everyones interests were at, we decided to sell her (at 3) to a young woman who was looking to replace her gymkhana horse. She did very well as I understand it however as time went on I lost track of her.
Once again this image was taken on 127 film, scanned, and pw in CS4 and some painting applied in Twisted Brushes.

Wonderful painting like scene!!
What a beautiful capture. It really looks like a painting with the postwork. Thanks for sharing.
I agree with photosyn, it does look like a children's book illustration. So very painterly and conveying a story! Wonderful use of an old image! My best farm dog was a cinnamon colored with white collar/feet/tail tip and dutch markings on face Chow/Border Collie cross (with the heavy Chow coat) - "Scout". He was so smart that he knew "our" rabbits from the wild ones, if ours got lose he'd round them up back to their cage and bark for me to come put them up. Also raised a few foals, miss the whole multi-tasking farm experience!
Lovely!!
A nice story Bruce and a sweet shot.
Oh, that's really cute! Chow ... Is not that something like: tidbit? 've Heard that this breed then landed in China's cookware ... Very nice shot!
