I think this is the most interesting lighthouse shot I've seen (or taken myself) in many years. Not only is the structure very picturesque but the area around it, the steps, the rock layers, the wood retaining wall are all interesting. It also appears that there are range lights here as well, which would allow a mariner to place his position, or distance, or be used as a guide into a harbor or such. Looks like it serves as a weather station as well. Excellent shot!

Well, in my opinion, and you might think it stinks, but I think for the most part Australia has it right.. Europe (The E.U....for it is they who run it not Governments.) are a bunch of money grabbing unelected crooks that would be locked up without question in Australia! We are Governed by weak minded idiots who think of others rather than their own.. End of rant! Sorry Andrew! Your photo is a stunner.. I love Lighthouses, don't know what is about them.. This is a super one and that SKY!!!! Wow! Well shot! Rob

Beautifully capture Andrew. Looks like erosion is at work. I wonder at what point something has to be done about this. I made the mistake of thinking of Austalia as the smallest continent. I should have thought of it as a large country - on a par with the US' lower 48. And a lot less people. I loved it!

Have to agree with Rob. although you have your own share of problems in Australia you get it right on so many things. Been to NSW twice and love it there. Beautiful capture caught on just the right day going by the colour of the sky.
