Show of hands: who celebrates Groundhog Day by eating some ham salad? (Very bad pun.)
Ahh, Groundhog Day, when the small town of Punxsutawney gets its annual five seconds of coverage on the national news. I can't be sure, but it might be a law in that town that all men over the age of 60 must own a top hat. Well, at least if you want to hoist a rodent into the air. QUIZ: How long would it take you to find Punxsutawney on a map??
To me, the whole holiday makes no sense. If the groundhog sees his shadow, it means six more weeks of winter. I could have told you that by looking at a calendar. If he doesn't see his shadow, it means spring is coming. The calendar says that, too. So, like... HUH??
In the end, I think the holiday has little to do with weather forecasting and more to do with top hats.

LOL!! This is great!
Wonderful work! excellent points you've indicated
LOL! Thanks much.
Too funny. lol.
That's okay. Beavers are better eating anyway. };-)
Thoughtful but I love our groundhog. Long live Wiarton Willie Mk VI. Actually, Willie spends most of his life at the Toronto Zoo. Cute rendering.
There's even a film about Groundhog Day. I saw it on a flight to the US many years ago. Quite a cute film. Of course the whole thing is a bit silly, but also fun. There are lots of unique local customs all over the world. Punxsutawney isn't the only place. That's what adds some fun to life. I like your "ground hog" cross breed! Or, eager beaver. I understand you not buying a ground hog - I, too, sit weighing pros and cons if I'm to buy something or not. Perhaps a photo would be easier? Happy Groundhog Day to you! Keep up the good work! :-) T.Rex is complaining that there's no "T.Rex Day". Thank goodness for that! Imagine a gang of hungry T.Rexs converging on "your town", USA, to celebrate! Sheesh!
Lmbo... good one!
Woah, creepy! Speaking beavas!
