Description
A tree in Alum Chine.
The huge pines often fall, being shallow rooted and too tall for the sandy soil. But the broad-leaved trees have a much more determined approach to life.
I gave this same tree an occupant some time ago, see Here

Rooted to the spot!
Great shot Andrea, as you say this one is not going to move in a hurry!!
Wow, that is staying put. Love the one on flicka :o) made me chuckle!!
Have you checked to see if there is a Cambodia temple underneath? Terrific image, you've really captured its strength.
This makes me think of a cat digging its claws into a carpet or something with amazing grip!
Great capture!
Great image but who is the little guy growing between the massive root's?
Like fingers hanging on for dear life!
Of course, my friend, it would be very pitty. Excellent done, well seen. 5+
Wonderful looking capture Andrea. I love the linked image with the little guy in the tree. Very creative work.
Now that is a strange tree and very handsome one.
Amazing pic.
Those are some seriously grasping roots! Great capture!
Somebody told that tree, "Get a grip." :)
certainly has a grip on things
Gives new meaning to the phrase: Taken root here!
Great textures through this root system!
firmly rooted to the spot Andrea, very Arthur Rackham
Superb! I am very glad about this one. Thanks. 5+!
Saw the face on 'your Flickr'. This tree really makes a statement. Great shot, Andrea.
Great shot, Andrea!! Strong roots is the what's it's all about!! :o)
Stunning capture Andrea. God Bless.
A stubborn attitude displayed by this arboreal giant, Andrea. Cool textures, and the roots look like hands plunged into the soil.
wonderful shot of these roots
Great shot , Andrea !
The FlickR version is very funny! This tree is not going anywhere with that death grip on the ground. I like this - a very nice find and share.
Awesome shot of those deep roots. Outstanding textures and forms.
That's some root system, and that's a hopeful little chap in between the roots.
Wonderful shot! :)
GREAT SHOT
