bewaar ik
voor als ik

It is difficult to translate, these two short poems.
So f.e. they say in Dutch to a special trip, 'a candy trip'.
In English it would be 'a pleasure trip'.
The surrender of your mind, would be from Dutch: I give my thoughts prise, or prize (which means reveal on English).
From behind the smoke screen, in Dutch means that there is an apparent reality constructed for the truth.
Well, here an effort:
My thoughts wander
would I go
and get them?
sliding the curtain
where would they
be?
From behind
the smoke screen.
My thoughts
I give a prize
take them
travel far
A taster
a candy-trip
Even a chocolate bonbon
I keep
for again
when back I come.

I like this a lot, dear friend! The poem and image are beautiful and your explanations of phrases very helpful. The image has the look of thoughts going where they will, but not totally randomly, for one thought touches on another and finds purpose and meaning in its wandering. I like the two similar shapes of contrasting colors, one dark and one light, the complexity of the patterns, and peaceful shades of the colors. Very beautiful words and image!
