Description
The pool deck at the stern of the ship, quiet at 11:27pm on the first night of the cruise. Then again, they drain the pools and put nets over them at about 7pm. Darn, no skinny dipping!
The pool lies behind the funnel, between the two sun deck terraces.

Very cool nightshot
A huge unimaginable area. Great night shot.
Stunning capture Clive. God Bless.
It's not so much a case against skinny dipping as it's a case of safety from previous bad experiences. Imagine hitting a big wave or a storm while in the pool at midnight, and nobody's there to help you out of the pool with the pool water sloshing violently back and forth as the ship heaves and rolls! On such good slosh back and forth and you've either drowned or had every bone in your body smashed against the pool's sides. A ship in even mild waves can result in very much sloshing back and forth in the pool. As for the photo - great job! Unusual view of a ship's deck and superstructure. The lighting is great, warm and welcoming. Keep up the good work! :-)
Glad T.Rex explained..I was thinking what spoilsports! A super shot, Clive.
Xcellent illumination fX!
Very well done. Thank you. 5+!
Very interesting Clive. I can't say I have ever swam in a pool on a boat!
Very nice capture. I like the reflections very much.
Superb image, beautiful reflections.
I wondered about Michael's theory of emptying the pools at night, but it seems that's just the policy of the ship you were on. Cruise ships close the pools whenever they're expecting rough seas, no matter the hour. I found a most interesting bit of information here. If you scroll down far enough, you'll see a video that shows how much the pool water (at night, btw) sloshes around when the boat starts to pitch a bit. Yikes!
nice details and night capture
I've always been amused at the thought of hauling pools of water on top of the sea... Love this POV and the late-night atmosphere!
Great perspective!
I see this shot decked you:) Cool POV.
